Code generation and the Smart Tracker system
The Indigo side. Generate the codes for an order, all tagged into Indigo's proprietary Smart Tracker system, and hand the vendor a print-ready sheet. Each display gets two codes, one for the packaging and one for the stand, each pointing to its own scan.
How the codes work
Every code is unique and belongs to this order, but it is deliberately not
pre-assigned to a store or a sequence. Each display gets two codes,
each pointing to its own scan: one on the shipping packaging (read at
the warehouse, Level 1) and a separate one on the back of the stand
(read at the store, Level 2). Both belong to the same display. Which city it was headed
for is set by the consignment plan; which store it ended up in is resolved in the field,
from the installer's GPS and photo. That is what lets the dashboard follow each display
through both checkpoints without anyone tracking which code went where.

How a scan resolves, at each checkpoint
Because the codes are generic, nothing is pinned at print time. Each scan is
placed when and where it happens:
- Level 1, warehouse: the receiver scans the packaging code
as stock arrives. The scan lands at that city's warehouse (from GPS) and
counts against the 50 planned for the city.
- Level 2, store: the installer scans the stand code and takes
a photo. GPS and the on-screen address are matched to the nearest known store,
within about 100 metres.
- If a store is ambiguous, the installer picks from a short dropdown of nearby
stores.
- Both events tally against the order, so each display lands in the right city
on the dashboard and its full journey is visible.
